  • What do I need to get started?

To apply for an account, we'll need an email address from you. Oh yeah, and a phone or computer. That’s it.
  • Can anybody sign up?

We are looking for partners that want to release music and help us create the ultimate product. You can be an aspiring industry rep, an existing label or an artist. Everybody is welcome, as long as you have music to release. We screen applications to make sure sure the account info is real and has the rights to distribute music in their catalogs.
  • Why do I need to apply for invite? Can’t I just sign up?

We screen applications to make sure sure the account info is real, and the owner has the rights to distribute music in their catalogs. Everybody is welcome, as long as you have music to release. It takes about two business days to hear back from us once you apply.
  • How much does it cost to start my label?

Getting started is completely free. Instead of an upfront payment, Labelcaster takes a commission of 10% of the streaming royalties. There are no additional costs or hidden fees. Our commission covers distribution to all DSPs, contract management, payouts to all participants and reporting. If you succeed – we succeed.
  • I already have a label, can I use Labelcaster?

Sure! You can transfer any existing catalogue(s) to our system, free of charge, and we will help you to manage a seamless transition. Or, maybe you want to a sub label, spread your wings a bit. That of course works too.
  • Does Labelcaster distribute music?

Yes. We distribute globally to all the major streaming services (also known as DSPs) such as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, Pandora, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, TikTok, Facebook/Instagram, Audiomack, Snap, and many more—now over 100 services supported in over 230 territories.
  • How much does distribution cost?

Zero. Unlike others, we charge no upfront fees to distribute music to all streaming services (DSPs). Once your music gets played, Labelcaster does take a 10% commission on the streaming royalties. We take the risk with you. If you succeed – we succeed.
  • Can I sign artists?

Of course! We have used the best legal expertise around to create label/artist contract templates. The templates are designed to cover the mechanical royalties for each release and the split between each party of the agreement is saved in the Labelcaster system. When the royalties are paid out from the streaming services, our system pays out the royalties based on the contractual split. All contracts are signed and saved digitally in the app. Available and downloadable at all times for all parties, fully transparent and fair.
  • Will Labelcaster take any of the artist royalties?

Labelcaster takes a 10% commission on streaming royalties. Splits for all participants are calculated after that commission is deducted.
  • How do I get paid?

Labelcaster has automated the payout process for labels and artists. Streaming revenues from the service providers are split based on your contractual agreements. Each participant sets up how to get paid in our app.
  • Do I need a registered company to collect royalties?

Nope. Royalties are simply paid out to your user account. From there on it’s up to you.
  • Can royalties be split to multiple contributors?

Of course! You can add as many contributors/participants to a release as you wish. Participants could be artists, composers arrangers, producers, or collaborators of any sort. It is entirely up to you as the label owner.
  • How are royalties split between label and artist?

Labelcaster will ask you to set and agree on a split between the label and participant(s) for each release. We automatically distribute royalties based on these splits.
  • Can I view my sales and data in the app?

We have built a set of dashboards for you. You can see exactly how much each release has been streamed, where it has been streamed and a calculation of estimated royalties. Artists can see the same information on their accounts.
  • Can I see how much royalties I can expect from the next payout?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to give an exact number, and this is why; not all streams are equally valuable and royalties fluctuate over time. In spite of this, Labelcaster does calculate expected streaming royalties for all of our users. We use the vast amounts of data available and calculate an average payout per service provider. The result isn’t exact but gives you a ball-park figure. Read more about royalties here.
  • I am having trouble signing contracts

If you are met by a blank page when signing contracts, it is probably due to you not having enabled your position. Showing your position is required for signing contracts. Change these settings on the right hand side of your url search bar in your browser!
  • How do I get a pre-release link?

First of all, you need to set up your release for distribution at least 15 days before the release date. When you have set up the distribution in  Labelcaster, drop us an email to support@labelcaster.com and let us know which release you would like the pre-release link for. We'll get back to you with the link asap!
  • How much do streaming services pay per stream?

All of us want to find out exactly how much streaming services pay out to artists. Unfortunately, it is impossible to get a straight answer, and this is why; not all streams are equally valuable. Streaming services such as Spotify, Apple music and Deezer don’t have a fixed pay-per-stream rate, instead the royalty rates fluctuate month to month. The reason being that there are several factors that affect the value of a stream, here are the main ones: - Which streaming service is used
    - Does the listener have a paid subscription or free account (advertisement funded)?
    - The listener’s country and location
    - The pricing in different regions
    - The artist’s royalty rate
  • How do I get my Spotify URI code?

For the time being, you need to request it from us. We can only give you the URI code if you have sent the release within 15 days prior to the publication! Drop us a line including artist name and Single/EP/Album title to support@labelcaster.naqkfbuygo-gjy3mxy9k48q.p.runcloud.link and we will get back to you asap!
