How to create an Instagram Label Page in 7 simple steps

What started off as a simple app to share pictures with your friends, quickly became the go-to social media platform to promote eye-catching content. With over 75 million daily users, over 400 million monthly active users to date, and engagement rates 58 times higher than Facebook. Your label can’t afford not to be on Instagram. It is a great platform to grow a fan base on; share music, backstage photos, creative material, interviews and much more.

But before you start posting tons of photos, you’ll need to know the basics. Here’s a step by step guide to creating a strong Instagram business profile, enjoy!

Step 1: Creating the account

You probably already have a private Instagram account. If not, start by getting one here.

Now that your account has been set up. Proceed to creating a new one for your business/label. You can have up to five different accounts on Instagram. Simply press the Instagram log n the top left corner and then press the “Log in or create a new account” link in the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Choose username

Before you start posting you’ll need to choose a unique username. If your business/label name is not available, you can try different variations of your name.

Step 3: Write an Informative Bio

A thoughtfully curated bio is crucial to creating the best Instagram profile possible.

You get 150 characters here, so make them count! Tell people what you do, who you are, and what they can expect to see from your Instagram updates. Most importantly, tell people WHY they should follow you.

Write your bio in an online character counter tool and keep it to 150 characters or less. Use an emoji dictionary to make sure you choose universal emojis. Add in line breaks where needed.

Note: You will not see the formatting on desktop, but when you switch to your phone you will!

Step 4: Choose Business Category

Though this may not SOUND particularly glamorous, adding a category to your business account allows you to tell viewers more about you without using space in your bio real estate.

Step 5: Set Your Instagram Contact Options

Make it easy for people to contact you directly by adding contact options to your Instagram profile.

With a business account, you can add an email address for click to email, a phone number for click to call, and a physical location people can tap to get driving directions.

Add as many as make sense for you!

Step 6: Add a trackable link

Instagram also gives you the option to put a link in your profile. Instead of putting just the URL of your website, you could be a variety of other links. Promote releases, link to playlists, videos and artist profiles.

Whatever it is, you should change it regularly if it’s a link other than your homepage.

Step 7: Adding Content – Be Relevant and Follow a Theme

Taking good photos and videos is just the first step in creating a perfect Instagram feed. You are running a label, make sure to post regularly and be relevant to what your business goals are. Aside from creating a visual theme, the story that you’re telling with your images is equally as important. Your caption section is a powerful tool. By personifying your brand, you’re opening up your comments section for discussion. Adding that human touch to your page is essential in any successful social media strategy.

Goog luck!
